Creating Premium Facilities for a New Padel Centre

FTD were appointed to deliver the design and construction of the changing and spectator facilities for the new Destination Padel centre in Cheadle. Working to a 10-week programme, our team transformed an empty space into a fully functioning facility that provides players with high-quality amenities and an elevated viewing experience.

The Brief

Destination Padel required purpose-built changing facilities to support the launch of their new indoor padel centre. The brief was to create modern changing rooms, toilets and shower facilities, together with a raised viewing area where spectators could enjoy matches overlooking the courts.
FTD Building Contractors were entrusted to manage both the design and construction, delivering a complete turnkey solution from the ground up.
 

The Challenge

The project involved converting an open internal space into a multi-functional facility capable of supporting high visitor numbers. Careful planning was required to integrate drainage, structural works and bespoke joinery while maintaining an efficient programme to meet the centres opening deadline.​

Our Solution

FTD carried out all excavation and groundworks required to install the new drainage infrastructure serving the changing rooms, toilets and shower facilities. Once the groundwork was complete, our team designed and constructed a robust timber structural subframe to support the new facilities. The structure incorporated fully equipped changing rooms, toilet and shower areas, while also creating a raised spectator viewing platform overlooking the padel courts. As part of the fit-out, FTD designed, manufactured and installed bespoke toilet cubicles tailored specifically to the space. Our in-house workshop also produced a custom-built bar, designed to complement the modern aesthetic of the venue and
provide a welcoming social area for players and visitors. From structural design through to the final finishes, every aspect of the project was
managed and delivered by the FTD team.
